Eric West is a classically trained musician, turned guitar and banjo player, who has been delighting young audiences since 1982. His extraordinary collection of musical instruments from around the world, homemade limberjacks, and his humor, all add up to one of the most whimsical shows you will see this year.

Eric earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Denver where he was classically trained on the double bass. From there he has branched to play dozens of instruments, both ethnic and homeade. In addition to his “Music For Kids” shows, Eric regularly performs with The Jefferson Symphony, and in the pit orchestra of the Evergreen Choral.

Things No One Knows

Eric has a strong passion about the environment, which is the theme of many of his children’s songs. In recent years he has made several instruments out of repurposed stuff, including frying pans, pan lids, and silverware

Whenever he can, Eric spends his time as a visual artist. Among the many things he has created on his five acre mountain property is a "Jack in the Beanstalk" castle on top of a 20 foot tree, a "rock guitar" made out or rock, a bottle walled green house and many other creations.

From the fanciful to the practical, Eric enjoys making things that can be used in every day life. He’s built everything from home additions, furniture, and a gazebo to greenhouses and gourmet meals.
